Delft

Another place that I am sure to visit when in the Netherlands is Delft. It is a small town located in the South of the Netherlands. It is famous for its blue porcelain tiles and other products, which are known as Delftware.

Delft retains many of the old and historical buildings that survived the Delft explosion. The Delft explosion occurred in 1654, when a gunpowder store exploded. Most of the city was destroyed and over a hundred people were killed.

I want to visit Delft, as I have family that came from here and survived the Delft explosion. I feel that this is an important part of my heritage and culture, and I can not wait to spend the day in the town, getting to  understand where my family came from.
